REPORT ON GREEN ARMY FAREWELL TREK FOR THE BATCH 2015-2018 OF THE DEPT OF LIFE SCIENCES

The last leg of the journey for the Green Army students of 2015 -18 on July 4, 2018, was full of excitement and adventure. The green and rocky terrain of the Channagiri next Nandi hills was picture perfect. Everyone was enthusiastic and excited so much so that the scorching hot sun did not deter their spirit. The last Green army trek for the batch started with singing merrily and talking gaily throughout the journey in the bus. It was fun for the juniors and a tinge of nostalgia for the outgoing batch, finding their way through the thorny bushes and rocky path up the hill. The grit and determination of students were rewarded at the top with a small water hole, half the size of a football field.

Sitting on the rocks, the seniors shared their past experiences and knowledge. The juniors also shared their views. The interaction was indeed memorable. Fully dried, we started downhill at the end of the day but lost our way and got separated from the rest finally united at the base of the hill. The journey back on the bus was even more loud and boisterous as no one seemed to be tired from the hectic trek. A memorable trek for both the juniors and the outgoing members of the Green Army, a time well spent together.
